The alliance built to secure her future

Women's Cybersecurity Alliance serves experienced professionals who've proven their expertise but face systemic barriers designed to keep them from advancing. We believe securing your future means more than just landing executive roles—it means building the financial foundation, personal autonomy, and career resilience that transform your entire life. Through strategic intelligence, trusted peer networks, and holistic support, we help women claim positions of power in cybersecurity that make it all possible.

The gap between rhetoric and reality

The cybersecurity industry has a retention crisis it refuses to acknowledge. Women comprise 25% of the workforce but hold only 10-15% of senior leadership positions. The attrition isn't at entry level—it's at the exact moment women should be ascending to positions of power. They're not leaving because they lack competence. They're leaving because the invisible rules governing advancement remain inaccessible, and the path forward becomes impossible to see.

WCA exists because capable women shouldn't have to choose between breaking under pressure or leaving the industry entirely. We believe women deserve more than just their next role—they deserve a secure future built on rock solid career resilience and true agency, whether working for someone else or themselves. Because in today's industry, job security is an illusion. What matters is claiming positions of power that transform your entire life.

From individual survival to collective power

The Beginning: Hacker in Heels

Five years ago, founder Stacey Champagne began having conversations with women in cybersecurity. They were all experiencing the same hostility, the same barriers, the same breaking points. She launched Hacker in Heels in 2020 to address the gap—starting with programs to help women transition into cybersecurity careers, then expanding to include a membership community with monthly connection calls, study squads for certifications, and intimate Salons at conferences.

2023

Creating the Alliance

That space didn't exist. So she created it. The rebrand to Women's Cybersecurity Alliance marked the strategic pivot from broad accessibility to exclusive focus on women who've already proven themselves. The new name reflects a grown-up focus—experienced women are exhausted by branding that talks down to them. More importantly, it reflects the alliance model: rigorous vetting creates trusted relationships, intensive programs deliver tangible improvements, and coordinated peer support replaces competition.

Recognizing the Real Gap

But something was breaking down. Virtual programming couldn't sustain engagement. The market flooded with new-to-cybersecurity training programs. And nearly a decade into her career, Stacey—and other experienced women—were growing frustrated. They didn't have time to coach beginners. They needed something different: a space carved out for experienced, ambitious, high-performing women in cybersecurity already proving themselves but facing systemic advancement barriers.
